English Proficiency Levels in Japan Improve Among Students
A 2024 Ministry of Education survey revealed that 52.4 % of third-year junior high students achieved English ability equivalent to Eiken Grade 3 or higher, up 2.4 points from 2023. Among high school seniors, 51.6 % reached Eiken Pre-2 or higher. This gradual improvement reflects increasing demand for effective English learning methods and supportive services.
